samsara writes the following about Darkness Before Dawn :
If you like to read about love and friendship, then I recommend you read the book Darkness Before Dawn. When eighteen year old Keisha Montgomery first found out her ex- boyfriend committed suicide she was devastated and she didn't think that she could move on in her life. Then she meets Jonathan, the principal's son. All the things that Keisha feared the most slowly creep up on her. She found out that you can trust one person with all your life and then he or she does something that Keisha never thought he or she would do. Once Keisha starts to get to know Jonathan and gets a little closer, Keisha starts to stray from her friends and family. Keisha decides one night after a dance that she is going out to dinner with Jonathan and they end up at his apartment. While she is there, Jonathan abuses her and tells her she can't go anywhere. Keisha finds an object and gets out while Jonathan is on the floor. She runs outside and falls and doesn't think she will make it, and then she sees Edna, the woman that Keisha and a friend helped out by giving her some food. Edna was a compassionate and kind person and took care of Keisha until she was well enough to call her parents and tell them what happened and to come and get her. Keisha doesn't go back to school for a while and when she does she finds hope and comfort in her friends and family.
