This book is awesome. I recommend watching the movie as well and comparing the two. It is a very sensitive inside view of what it is like to be an outsider (Mighty), or to have a fatal illness and know that you will only live a short life (Freak). Freak's vocabulary is wonderful and a great way to learn some impressive words to WOW your teachers and friends. Rodman Philbrick writes with images you can just picture in your mind. A great read-aloud for a 6th grade classroom with lots of discussion topics. A+ for this book!
