Prettypri101 writes the following about Sing Down the Moon :
This book is about a Navajo girl named Bright Morning who gets captured with her friend Running Bird by Spaniards to be a slave. After talking with another Indian slave wanting to escape they hatch a plan. After a few days of hide and don’t get found their mere days away from the canyon were Bright Morning Lives and the Spaniards are close on their tail. They see Bright Mornings soon to be husband, Tall Boy, and Tall Boys friend on the trail and together they try to run back to their village but Tall Man gets shot. He tries to stick it out and when they see the village in sight Bright Morning runs ahead to get the doctor. After Tall Boy heals they find out that he won’t be able to use his right arm anymore, so he can’t hunt. And what is a man to do without being able to hunt?
Soon after the Spaniards come back to their village to round up all the Navajo tribes. But when they get to Bright Mornings tribes living area their not there because they saw the Spaniards coming a head of time and fled. But the Spaniards find there trial and hauled them to an area were all the Navajo tribes also are forced to live in. Many People died on the trip to this area. But Bright Morning gets married and is pregnant and decides that this is not a proper place to have a child so her and her husband escape to go back to their home and they end up being one of the only and maybe the only that escaped and lived.
