I think Kira-Kira was a great book and I give this 9 out of 10 stars because it had several rising actions,but at the same time it had a few falling actions.Also in this book it had several tear jerking moments.
The main character in this book is Katie.Katie lives with her mom,dad,little brother Sam and older sister Lynn.
Katie and her family had just moved from Iowa and are now living in Georgia.Since Katie and her sister are new they don't have very many friends so they are basically each others best friends,but then one day Katie's sister meets a friend and they become bestfriends and do everything together.Lynn discludes Katie now that she has her bestfriend.Then one day Katie meets a friend and they also do everything thing together just like Lynn and her friend.Then one day Lynn become seriously ill,so Katie has to take time to take care of her.Then one day she gets angry at her sister and goes outside when she should of been taking care of her.Her dad came out about an hour later and tell's Katie some really bad news.
Now all Katie has to do is keep her family from falling apart.Kira-Kira was a great book and I would love to read another one of Cynthia Kadohata's books.
