Jake writes the following about Hatchet [UNABRIDGED] :
Hatchet,by Gary Paulsen is the book that i read. The main character is 13 year old boy named Brian. Due to a plane crash on the way to his dad's,he is stuck in the wildand has to survive alone in Canada.

The theme of my book is survival. After the plane crash Brian had no choice but to survive or die. He chose to survive and he did for about 2 months and 3 weeks. During that time he almost was killed five times.

Other great books that are somewhat like Hatchet are: Rats of Nimh by Robert C. O'brien and JoHnny Tremain written by Esther Forbes. So, if anyone who truly loves adventurous and breathtaking books, Hatchet should be on the top of your list. Plus, Hatchet is perfect for kids in grades 4-7.

Iloved Hatchet because it was exciting, adventurous and breathtaking so i give Hatchet a 10/10 rating.
