Ibby writes the following about Downriver :
Downriver is beautifully written, just like your right there! You feel for Jessie, and you fall in love with the charectors. It is a book you just cannot put down! I loved it so much! It is unbelievable, by far the greatest book ever. It is the story of children (ages 15-20)who are going to an 8 week long camp. When Al, the instructor, is getting things for the group at a gastation, one of the oldest steals to car and drives off. They decide to run the Grand Canyon, illegaly with very little food.

Downriver is a great book and just captures readers and puts them into the story. It is sad, scary, happy, and just a great story. It'd be a great addition to every book shelf in the world!
