Tangerine is basically a book about a teen boy named Paul who has to go through many obstacles in his life. He faces problems with his eyes, brother, friends, new school, parents, and even his all time favorite sport- soccer.
The book by Edward Bloore describes life as in a different point of veiw. As of the veiw of behind the good precious image that no one ever sees.
I personaly conected to the book mainly because I think everyone at some point of their life feel their parents favor another sibling or someone else in the family. People never get a chance to show their own personality unless someone gives that chance to them, similar to Paul. His parents were I guess you could describe it, persuaded into Erik, his older brothers football dream. Everyone always had Erik come before Paul, and Paul never recived the attention he deserved.
That was until Paul stood up for himself, and told every person who he was in contact with off. Thats when many secrets of Erik were revealed, and everyone saw his real personality.
I think Bloore wrote this book to show that there is life out there for eveyone, you just have to fight for it and show people you deserve it. I know that by reading this book I have increased my perspective of standing up for not just myself, but others like my friends. I encourage many others to read this book, maybe just to see life from another point of veiw, or maybe just for people to realize they can be better than what they think they're not. Tangerine is defidently an awesome book, and it really does deserve a 10.
