suger_sweet_rainbow writes the following about The Golden Compass (His Dark Materials, No 1) :
The Golden Compass has to be one of the most astonishingly gripping books ive read in my life. It is fast paced and always keeps you on the edge of your seat. The world in which it is set is like ours , but different in many ways. After I fnished reading this book, I found myself wishing for a daemon like Lyra had in this novel. It has so much fantasy that is so believable in the way that it is described. You will not know how good it is until you read it for yourself. And You Will Not Regret It!!!!!!!
