I had to read this book in school a few years ago, and I thought it was very confusing at first, but then we started using the clues, to try and figure out the puzzle. It has many great clues and ironic features in the book, and that is what makes it even better. If you haven't read it, this will not make any sense, but, All four of the main older men characters have a direction [ie:Sam Westing, Barney Northrup, etc...] and the ending explains it and shocks you. All of the mishaps, such as the bomb, throw off things, and can mislead you in to thinking that Angela planted them, but did she? Find out for yourself, because I am sure this is making no sense to you, am I right? I am sure that I am. The haunted house, or Westing house, gives and adds more suspense to everything, especially when a little girl goes in there to scope it out with a cross and sandwhich and other items of her mothers. All of the heirs are competing for his money, which adds humor. This also gives the teams time to work with thier partner, that they most likely hate at the beginning. All of te clues that they have are misleading and they tend to point teams into thinking it's about a certain person, but it gives you the national anthem. Then all of Westing's ashes are spread in all directions of the wind.
