J.J. J writes the following about The Watsons Go to Birmingham--1963 (Newbery Honor Book, 1996, No 2) :
The Watsons Go To Birmingham 1963 is a fantastic book.It is about a family that goes to Alabama during this time period. My favorite part is when Kenny escapes the ''whoopoo.'' I gave this book a ten because it pulled me in untill the end.I didn't rate the illustrations because there were none.

The Watsons Go To Birmingham 1963 is a fun, exiting, all around great book.I'd recommend this book to anybody who is in for a good time.

P.S. I had no dislikes on this particular book, but it would have been fun to have read an alternate ending. It is like no other book I've read.
