lesley l writes the following about Number the Stars :

The name of my book is called Number the stars by:Lois Lowry. Well I like this book because I think it is is a wonderful book because of the story it tells. If you liked the Diary of Anne Frank, then you will enjoy this book too! It took place in Denmark in 1943. The characters are Annemare ,Kriste and ,Ellen who is jewish. One part that I liked was when Annemare nodded and said of course they are friends and neighbors and MRS.Hirsch is just as such a nice lady and so kirsti and danced her doll up and down happily. well i really like this book because of the friendship between the girls.
