Anna Vanessa writes the following about Frozen Fire :
this book is about two young boys named Matthew and Kayak and they were trying to survive out in the Arctic while looking for Matthew's father who is lost. this book is filled with adventure and many survival skills.

i rated this book a 6.5 because the beginning of the book was lagging and took too long to reach the actual conflict. also, the middle of the book was confusing and also was very long. the plot of the book was very simple, but intriguing too. the story has a large vocabulary which i think i appropriate for students of grade six and above. due to the fact that the book is a short narrative, the resolution was rushed but it was clear to understand how they solved their problem. the characters were well developed and it was obvious that both Matthew and Kayak have grown into more mature and clever boys throughout the book. overall, this book gets a "half thumb", which i would also say it's a must-read survival book.
