KrissyWolf writes the following about A Series of Unfourtunate Events :
|
The Penultimate Peril is the twelth book in this series. The three Baudelaires make it to Hotel Denoument in disguise. Through the events in this book you will see Olaf and his gang, unidentified triplets (one identified), many of their past guardians, and witness secrets, murders, accidents, tradery, and many other mysteries.
I liked this book, it was definatly one of my favorites in the series. I rated it a 8 though, because, as I've noticed, Snicket goes off topic after a cliff hanger and talks pages about something else while you are on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens. I ended up skimming many repeated things that he just repeated and repeated to finally get to what happens next, which wasted me time. Then the illustrations are 10. Brett did a wondeful job as always, capturing the weirdest, mysterious parts and putting them into drawing. And I just enjoy his style (hehe).
