Emily writes the following about Little House in the Big Woods :
This book basically explains how life was back in 1870 for Laura and her family. Laura writes about how her father would play the fiddle and tell them wonderous stories of his many adventures for her and her two sisters, Carrie and Mary, on those cold winter nights till they fell asleep. Her papa hunted and trapped animals to feed his family, while back at home Ma made her own cheese and maple sugar.
