Krysten Strowder writes the following about Where the Red Fern Grows :
I rate this boof a ten because it is a story taht has to do with a love between a boy and his two dogs. It tells about teamwork and friendship.Billy wants two hounds dogs and saves up for two years in determenation to get them. He catches a coon to train the dogs. Almost every night Billy and the pups, Little Ann and Old Dan, go coon hunting. Most of the time they skin the coons and sell them or wear them. Billy's dogs are very into to hunting.
when they fight a mountain lion and kill him Old Dan won't take his jaws off until the body is cold. In the end something tragic happens but to find out what it is you have to read the book.
