Beth writes the following about Parvana :
This novel was a fantastic novel that i highly enjoyed reading. It definately made me think more about poorer people around the world that are way less fortunate than us. Parvana is a young girl, which i am also so that made her easy to relate to, who lives in Afghanistan. Afghanistan had recently been bombed so flora and fauna is scarce. She has to cope with her father being taken to prison, which would be hard for any 11 year old girl. She has to then dress as a boy so that she can buy food and items for her poor and unhealthy family. She does this with pride which fascinated me. There are other obstacles she also has to overcome but i better let you read it for yourself and find. i would definately recommend this book to people aged between 10 and over.
