I read the book, Red Dog. The setting was at Wyoming near Adam's cabin. Adam finds a red dog. Bad prospecters came crashing through Adam's door and Adam escaped from the prospecters. Then the prospecters let the red dog loose. One of my worst part was when Adam's mom dropped the pan because someone scooped up Laurie and Ruff let out a snarl and the man got his rifle and was aiming at Ruff. My favorite part was everthing else. You should read this wonderful book. You will love it and I am sure.
