If you are reading this review then you might just be a teacher. If you are then please don't make your students read Julie of the Wolves. I had to read it when I was in middle school and I didn't like it, neither did most of my friends. I'm sure you have read it before or one of your teacher friends has reccomended it and liked it, or you have at least heard a good review of it but what you need to remember is that teachers and students can have very different tastes sometimes. There are some book like James and the Giant Peach that people of all ages can truly enjoy equally then there are other books that try to do that, yet sadly don't quite pull it off. This is one of those. I know it has won awards but what you need to remember is that those awards are voted on by adults not students. Those adults have different tastes then your students will and if you make them read this book then they probably won't likw it, they probably won't be too excited about it and will put it off and won't have much fun with the assignment. So please, there are a lot of excellent books out there that teachers and students can enjoy together. Please have your class read one of those instead of this, because I really don't think this is one of them.
