Russell writes the following about Number the Stars :
I thought my favorite part of the book is when Annemarie was so brave and calm when she met the 4 German soldiers and the 2 trained dogs. My favorite character was Peter because he was in the Resistance and helped Ellen and her family escape even though he could have been killed. If I would have found this book on my own and I read the first page I would have read it. I would recomend this book to others because it is a well written book and it also teaches you about what the holocaust was about and what people had to go through.
