Third children...you don't really think about it. You think,"What about third children?" In this book, you will see what happens to third children. Margaret Peterson Haddix captured the essence of how it is to hide in Among the Hidden.
Luke, one of the "hidden" children, is with his family on their farm. Luke has to be safe because of the law that has been passed. The law is the Population Law. It states that every family is only allowed to have two children. Unfortunately for Luke, he's the third. He has the woods to hide him a little so he gets to go out. Soon enough, some barons( rich people )move in and the woods are taken down. Now, Luke is confined to his attic room. How's he going to live? He soon finds another third child in one of the barons' houses. He gets hope of getting free and having fun. Then the other third child explains to him that he isn't alone. There are many third children all around. Now they are planning a rally to free themselves from being treated different. Now, he has to think...should he go or not?
This book is excellent. I like this book for many reasons. First of all, it builds up suspense. The book will keep you in suspense and interested thoughout. I recommend this book to people who think that being a kid isn't all it's cracked up to be. Also, this book will go out to all of the people who like suspense.
