Emily writes the following about Stargirl :
I read the book Star Girl by Jerry Spinelli. The two main characters are Star Girl and Leo. The plot is that Star Girl changes who she is for Leo. Most of the story takes place at the high school that they went to, and the rest is at Star Girl's house or outside when Leo and Star Girl went on walks. A new girl comes to school and she is really weird. The school thinks that she is a under cover student trying to bring spunk to the school. Then Leo falls in love with her so they start to date, and then he tells her that he wants her to change who she is because people are not talking to him. I might have changed the very ending of the story. I liked the message in the story, that it is better to be yourself and not change who you are because you want to be part of everyone, that you don?t have to act like everyone to get attention.
