Bryan writes the following about The Last Man's Reward :
The story that I read is called The Last Man's Reward. The main characters are Albert, Nick, Yuno, Small Dog, and Princess. They all just moved in an apartment building in Granite Falls, Washington.
They all met and hung out during the summer. When they were all riding their bikes, up a mountain side, they met a woman that was having a moving sale. Albert and his friends buy a tackle box of baseball cards from the woman.
They took the cards to Nick's house, and they all looked at the cards. Inside the tackle box they found a Willie Mayes rookie card. The card cost $4,000. Albert and his friends split up all of the cards in the tackle box, and left the Willie Mayes card alone.
Albert was reading the newspaper, and he read about some ex-marines in a Last Man group. What that is, is a group that hid a treasure chest, and who ever was the last man alive will get the treasure. So Albert's plan was just the same, his plan was whoever was the last person living in the apartments will get the card. Who will it be? Albert? Nick? Yuno? Small Dog? Or Princess?
I would rate this book a 7.2, because it had a good plot, but in the middle and the end it kind of drifted off the last man and the card. My suggestion is that at the end, someone should of gotten to the tackle box and there would be nothing in it.
