rick herring writes the following about Hatchet :
How would you like to be chased by a bear, get bitten by bugs and be separated from humanity for months and months? Brian a teenage boy is going to the Canadian oil fields to visit his father who deforested his mother. But on the way the plane he is on crashes and all he has is a hatchet will he survive or will he die you will have to read the book to find out! Happy is not the word to describe hatchet nor is sad I would say gripping and fast paced would describe it very well.
