Nikita writes the following about Homeless Bird :

The things written in this book are nothing close to what happens in India today. Oh, why would I know? I am an Indian In one part, the author states that Holi is a celebration of throwing cow dung everywhere, which is totally inaccurate. I believe that this book gives an extremely wrong impression about India to other readers. And I also did not find the story line quite interesting.
