Ann Zheng writes the following about among the hidden :
hi i'm ann I thought this book was great!!!!!!!!!!! In Among the Hidden, the main character is Luke Garner. Luke is a third child. He is forbidden by the Population Law, which states that because of a shortage of food, a family is only allowed to have two children. Since Luke will be killed if he is seen, he doesn?t go to school, or church, or have friends. In fact, ever since the woods surrounding the Garner?s home were demolished, he hasn?t been outside. A new neighborhood was created where the woods once were, and in one of the new rich houses lived Jen Talbot. Luke met her by accident, and Jen soon became Luke?s first friend. Jen introduces Luke to a world he had never known with potato chips and ice cream and soda. Jen, who isn?t easily hidden, plans to have a rally protesting against the Population Law. Luke is suddenly torn between helping the only friend he?s ever known, or staying safe and hidden with his family for the rest of his life.
