Some people think being normal is everything. That explains Mr. Dursley and Mrs. Dursley, of number four Privet Drive. They were pretty much a normal every day family, but every family has their faults. Mrs. Dursley has a dark secrete and her greatest fear was that some one would discover it.
It all begins here in London when an unexpected package arrives at the Dursley?s doorstep. His name; Harry Potter. A boy who knew nothing of his past. All he knew about his parents Lilly and James Potter was that they died in a car crash. But Harry?s life is about to change when he receives a letter. The letter was from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and the letter said that he had been accepted. Never in Harry's wildest dreams had he seen himself riding a broomstick or befriending a giant. But Harry knows nothing of what danger lie ahead of him. With the help of his best friends, Ron and Hermione, he learns to accept who he really is. But is Harry safe from the Dark Lord and his followers even with the watchful eye of the greatest wizard of all time, Head Master Albus Dumbledore?
I like to compare this book with the book series T*Witches, because it is on the same subject and it has the same genre.
I give this book an 8 because it was very interesting and it did not talk about every little detail. I give it a 10 for text features, because I liked the letters, messages, and italics in the text, and for illustrations I it a 9.7 because it tells a lot about the story just by the cover.
I think the message that the author is trying to get across to the reader is that it's ok to not be normal.
