soccerlvr writes the following about Hatchet :
This book is one of the best books i have ever read. The suspense and detail that lies in between these pages make me shake when i think about them. The realism that Brian shows compared to a real life situation is stupendous and jaw dropping. Although this book has no pictures I still consider it one of the finest books you'll ever read. I think why people give it bad reviews is because they dont read it all the way through. At the begining of this book i got so annoyed about how the author repeated everything about a billion times but it all makes sense once you read it over. Its called foreshadowing. The author (Gary Paulsen) wants what he is repeating to stick in your brain and leave a mark so you can remember the incredible wording. The author (Gary Paulsen) is also trying to make it feel that you're thinking what Brian is thinking because when you have a tragedy in your life it never really leaves so the author makes you think how Brian is thinking. I would give this book 5 stars.
