Amber writes the following about Tangerine :
In the fictional town of Lake Windsor Downs, lightning strikes almost every afternoon. For the natives, it's nothing different than usual. But 12-year-old Paul Fisher isn't used to this. His brother Erik becomes the star of the Lake Windsor High football team, and after Lake Windsor Middle School is pulled into a sinkhole, Paul temporarily attends Tangerine Middle. There, he decides to join the soccer team, which isn't so great at first, but eventually turns into a great season. But some strange things are going on in Paul's neighborhood. First, termites are taking over several houses on Paul's friend Joey's street, which totalled twenty-five houses. Soon afterward, the tented houses are soon robbed. A vandalism act is soon committed in Paul's own backyard.
But Paul has that and other things on his mind. He is almost blind, and he can't seem to remember how it came to be that way. He remembers he didn't wear glasses before the summer when he was five, and at school afterward Erik and his friends called Paul Eclipse Boy.

Why is there so much lightning in Lake Windsor? Who is committing all these robberies and vandalistic acts? What really happened to Paul that summer?

You'll have to read Tangerine by Edward Bloor to find out.
