SAC writes the following about Number the Stars :
NUMBER THE STARS by Lois Lowery is a wonderful historical fiction novel
about World War II. The setting takes place in Germany during the height of
the war. Lowery effectively depicts this element through the use of actuall events
and makes the reader emathize with the characters. The characters are a major
element of this novel. They help recreate what people, mainly the jews, went
through during this time period. Lowery also creates an effective plot. The plot
describes what was happening all over Germany and the progress of the war,
during the actual world war and in the book. This novel is highly suspenseful
and offers much information on World War II.
