This book is about a kid named crash who has always been a very tough boy. When he was a little boy he hit his cousin with a new football helmet that he got for christmas. Crash's real name was john but they started to call him crash after he crashed into his cousin. When he was 6 years old he met a kid named Penn Web who lives down the street from crash. Crash never really liked penn. Then when he was going into grade 7 he met a kid named mike and they became best friends. Near the end of the story penn and crash are fighting for the spot on the track team. when they are racing for the spot crash lets penn win because his great grandpa was there to watch and in the relays penns team came in second and that is the best anyone from that school. Then penn and crash become best friends.
