Yanahina Melgar writes the following about Tangerine :
This book is about a boy named Paul, he is the boy who always left out and get bothered by his older brother, Erik. Erik is a great football player and his parents want him to go to college so he can become the best quaterback in Tangerine and for Paul theres no chances for him to become like him. Paul loves soccer, and when he move from Texas To Florida, he's life have change, Paul wears glasses and his parents maded him believe that he was blinded by a eclipse but the truth is that Erik spray on his eyes when he was five. His parents and Erik think that he is always making stuff up becuas he can't see but he can see better than them and now that he have entered to a new school, he is remembering a lot bad memories that his brother have done to him; like when one time Erik try to kill him. Paul discovers the horrible secrets from his older brother, Erik and his parents!!!
