Ray writes the following about Holes [UNABRIDGED] :
Can you imagine being the heir of a bad curse- Over-wieght, poor, get teased by bullies and get accused of stealing Clyde Livingston's stinking shoe?! This is what poor Stanley Yelnats has to face. He punishment for the "theft" was to go to a juvenile detention center, Camp Green Lake. Everyday, he has to dig holes and " build character". Holes that are 5 feet all around, and , if you find something interesting, make sure you inform the warden about it, you might get a day off. After a few days of digging, Stanley found his second thing, a golden tube with KB written on it. This made the warden very excited, however, STanley does not know why. ANd he is trying to find out....
