Book Review
Everyone says they have someone they trust enough to tell everything to, but can they trust them enough to tell them their deepest secret? In the book Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause, the main character, Vivian, has two different lives. She has the life of a human and the life of a wolf. When she falls in love with a human, she longs to tell him of her difference. Vivian struggles to decide whether to tell him or not, but I am not the one to tell you what she does?
The main character Vivian Gandillon is a very different type of person. She is a sixteen year old girl. She was born a part human and part wolf. Besides being a normal teen, she has to hide her true self. Being a beautiful and a strong person makes her even more irritable.
In Blood and Chocolate, the setting was in Maryland during July. It was dicribed well. In each new setting I was always able to make a mental picture in my mind. The setting was important because it determined the clothes the character wore, because it was hot during the day, the characters wore t-shirts and shorts.
In this book there could have been several themes. There was one that I believe fits the book best: don?t assume you can trust everyone. I can?t explain this to you becaue that would give away the ending of the book, then you wouldn?t have to read the book.
The book Blood and Chocolate is a very unique book. Comparing it to other books is hard to do, but the one comparison is Silver Kiss. They both were written by the same author, Annette Curtis Klause. On a scale of 1- 10 I would rate Blood and Chocolate a seven. I give it a seven because there were several cuss words which were not needed and some profanity. If you look past the profanity the book was pretty good. Things that could be improved would be to leave out the profanity and cussing. One last thing that would improve the book is to have less talking about the setting.
I think this was a good book. I would recommend it to older teenagers. It would be inappropriate for younger children. I enjoyed reading this book, and hopefully you will too.
