Jenny writes the following about Ella Enchanted :
Book Review Ella Enchanted was about a girl named Ella and her journey to get rid of a curse that was given to her by a fairy named Lucinda. Lucinda gives Ella the ?gift? of obedience. Ella has to follow any command given to her. Ella lives with her mother and her father, but her father is always away traveling. Ella, Ella?s mother, Mandy Ella?s cook and fairy god mother, and Lucinda are the only ones who know about the curse, or gift as Lucinda calls it. When Ella?s mother dies her father has a big funeral and invites people Ella?s never even seen before and prince Char was their. Ella runs off because she?s sad and when she is ready to come back to the funeral she runs into prince Char and they become friends. Ella?s father comes back home to live with her or so Ella thought. Instead he sends her to a boarding school away from home where she has to live while her father goes on more trading expeditions. Along with Ella two girls, Hattie and Olive go to boarding school with her. Hattie and Olive were at Ella?s mother?s funeral. Hattie knows about the curse but Olive doesn?t. Ella runs away from boarding school because she is sick of Hattie?s commands. Ella and Char love each other but Ella refuses to marry Char because she doesn?t want the country to suffer from her curse. Lucinda refuses to take Ella?s curse away so Ella starts ignoring Char so that he won?t want to marry her. Ella goes to Chars balls but dresses up as someone else. On the night of the 3rd and final ball Ella breaks the curse and she and Char get married! This is truly a Cinderella story!

There were many things I liked and many things I disliked about Ella Enchanted. What I liked about Ella Enchanted was how Ella broke her curse on her own. I also liked how Ella and Char fell in love and got married. What I disliked about Ella Enchanted was how Hattie and Olive were so bossy to Ella. I also didn?t like how Ella?s father was always away traveling.
