James writes the following about Rinkitink in OZ :
In which a jolly King called Rinkitink arrives at the island of Pingaree, with his goat Bilbil. They immediately find themselves caught up in a war between Pingaree and the islands of Regos and Coregos, who take away all the Pingarese people for slaves. With the young Prince Inga of Pingaree, they go off to fight against the King Gos of Regos and Queen Cor of Coregos. It seems impossible, and even more so when the rascally King of Nomes Kaliko side against them. But with a little help from Dorothy and the Wizard, they might just get there! RINKITINK IN OZ was the tenth Oz book published by L. Frank Baum, first published in 1916. Illustrated again by John R. Niell, this one has 12 colour plates. It is alot darker than the other Oz book, in spite of Rinkitink's merriment. Oz is only a minority country in this book, and Dorothy and the Wizard are only in a very small part, but there are some funny jokes. Dorothy seems to have gone through great decline.
