T.Ligget writes the following about Darkness of Dawn :
The world is completely dependent on technology and the populace has resorted to cheap entertainment via electronic media. The arts and humanities are of little importance. A few voices are trying to make people understand what's happening to them, but few listen. Then, without warning, the technology stops working. Death and destruction occurs throughout the world. A small group of people takes on the challenge to restart the world's engine of survival. The task seems impossible, until the ramblings of an old Indian woman, and a mysterious message in an antiquated book, give hope that all is not lost. Antogonists add additional suspense and excitement to this thoughtful novel. Many business and scientific leaders are warning about the trend toward unfettered technology use at the expense of other human pursuits. The authors of DARKNESS OF DAWN add their literary voices to this chorus with skillfull word crafting and character development of an exciting and enlightening novel. I do not ordinarily read futuristic novels, but this one, about a future world society totally addicted to technology, is amazing. It examines, through novel form, how this society (and metaphorically our own) would act if all the technology that everyone is so dependent on, suddenly fails. This isn't a Y2K book. It's a book about people caught up in dire circumstances, and how a small group of New Mexicans accept the challenge to restart the world's engine of survival. Of course the bad guys add suspense and excitement to an otherwise thought provoking novel. After setting up the story, which took a few more pages than I would have liked, the authors propelled me along so rapidly that I almost read the whole novel in one sitting. I strongly recommend this book, as apparently do many other readers if all the five star reader reviews on Amazon.com are any indication. A must read!
