~heather!~ writes the following about Dial-A-Ghost :
Dial-A-Ghost Eva Ibbotson Do you believe in ghosts? If so you might enjoy the book Dial-A-Ghost. It is about a family of ghosts named the Wilkinson's and the Shrieker's. The name of the main character though, is an orphan named Oliver. He loves living in the orphanage, but then one day he finds out he is the new owner of Helton Hall. He is sad to leave, but two of his long lost cousins agree to watch over him. But they are up to no good and go to a place called Adopt a Ghost. They adopt the Shrieker's who are mean so they can scare Oliver and they will own Helton. But a couple of nuns order the nice friendly Wikinsons. But then there is a mix-up?..and something goes wrong. I enjoyed this book, but I think it would be better for younger children. It seemed like more of children's book to me because the characters are friendly ghosts and mean ghosts. The child ghosts name is Addie. She likes animals that are ghosts. So, she has a dead fish for a pet. This would be a good book for people who like fantasy books. It is just a cute little story about two families' of ghosts and an orphan who come together and be friends. I enjoyed this book, and I think it would be something good to read to your kids.
