Baby J writes the following about I Know What You Did Last Summer :
Everyone has probably already seen the movie I Know What You Did Last Summer, but I bet you didn't know that a popular and creative author, Lois Duncan, wrote it. In this book he creates a story that is sure to thrill and fill you with suspense. The characters were not explained very well because it does not tell about they're past, but they're reactions to the events that happened brought out thier personality in a different way that is usually told. Barry handles the events much more different than Julie, Ray, and Helen. He is much of a rebel and acts macho and tries to hide his fear. Usually a character is characterized when he or she is first brought up in the story, but it does not give concrete details in the beginning they are told throughout the book by thier reactions and dialogue. The plot does not show much of foreshadowing which makes it more suspenseful and thrilling. You can't tell who the murderer is right off the bat because they suspect somene else everytime it is not the right person. The theme is very true and effective. It covers two subjects in the beginning the four terrified teens make a vow not to tell anyone about the horrible accident, but unfortunatly it comes back to haunt them in a physical and mental way. What the murderer shows them the golden rule, what you do onto others will be done to you, by killing some of them and thier some of thier loved ones. Overall Lois Duncan explains the Golde Rule, he also describes the character in an unfashionable way, the plot sets a can not put down mood with these it is a story that I recomend to everyone.
