cracker writes the following about Ransom :
Ransom was a good book and well described through it. I felt closer to each of the characters through the knowledge of their past. Even in the beginning while they're on the bus you start to get the feel for them and their troubles. Towards the end the characters helped me predict what might happen all though it was not always right. The setting plays a vital role in the story. If you noticed all the kids were chosen to be kidnapped because they were from Valley Gardens, a richer community. So they picked these kids because they thought they could get lots of ransom money. My third element is plot. The plot is effective because one event leads up to the next. It's also effective because it is well thought out and easy to understand. Over all I thought it was a great book and I think it would be fun to read another book written by Lois Duncan. Her writting style appeals to me because it is easy to understand and follow.
