I think that this book was very interesting and fun to read. One of the people in this story was The Mayor of Bamberg, Germany, Johannes Junius. In the story that talks about him, it gives a letter that he wrote to his neice. He told her about what was happening to him in the jails. It gives ways that they tortured the people that had been accused of witchcraft. This story was very interesting, but kind of sad. Another story talks about Lady Alice Kytler, growing up she aquired a good amount of money. She also had several husbands who died and left her all of their money. She was sen chanting and sweeping dust towards her house. She was accused of witchcraft, and she soon admitted to all that she had done. She was supposed to be executed, but when they went to get her from her cell, she wasn't there and they could not get the bolt undone. No one knows what happened to her that day.I thought that this story was very good and kinda creepy Another story talks about things that they did to people to decide whether or not they wre witches. They would do things like put you on a scale and a bible on the other scale and if you weighed more than a bible then it was decided that you were a witch. Another way was they would tie your hands and feet together and throw you in the water and if you sunk then you were innocent, but if you floted then it meant that even water had rejected you. If you were innocent by this way there was only a slim chance that someone that someone would get you out. This story was possibly the best part of the book. This book told about everything that took place and even reason why some people could have really been innocent. It was very interesting.
