Bill Pullman69 writes the following about Call of the Wild :

This book is fantastic, containing action, self-reinventing and a very deep story line. Through thick and thin, the main character, Buck remains himself, yet changing in many ways. From slow farm-life, he goes all the way to savage wildlife with the pack. I recommend this book very much.
