Kelly writes the following about Point Blanc :
Super spy Alex Rider is back in the great book Point Blanc. Alex is a spy for Alan Blunt (Head of special operations, MI6). Michael Roscoe has just died and so has Ivanov, both are super rich and both sons go to the boys finishing school called Point Blanc. Alex is to go to this school as Alex Friend son of Sir Friend who owns supermarkets. While at the school he makes a friend and suddenly he changes from a lazy boy to a work-loving boy. The main charachter in the story is a fourteen year-old by named Alex Rider. Alex's uncle dies so he has to live with a friend, Jack Starbright. Alex is then recruited by M16 to be a spy.Alex is such a cool character. He's determined, adventurous, brave, funny and extremely reckless- the perfect hero, and at just 14. I like Alex because he is imaginative and adventurous. My favourite part is when Alex escapes on an ironing board (used as a snowboard) and then comes back with a SAS unit to rescue the boys held hostage in the school. I couln't put the book down it was very tense. I think that Point Blanc is a really exciting book. The beginning is a bit weak and could be improved by adding more action and suspense to draw the reader in, but other than that, I wouldn't change anything. I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend this book to 7-14 year olds who like action and detective books.
