Olivia writes the following about Lengend of Sleepy Hollow :
The Legend of Sleepy hollow is the story about the headless horseman who takes revenge on the village of Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod Crane is an investigator who believes pathology is the key step to the future. New York has had enough of his foolish speak, and sends him off to Sleepy Hollow. There he will help the villagers discover the murderer of victims of Sleepy Hollow. But the twist is, everyone already knows who the murderer is- the headless horseman. Although Ichabod does not believe there tales of this being who killed many and got his head chopped off in consequence. And uses his strange and rather unusual equipment to unlock the murderer. While staying at the Van Tassel home, new-coming friends help him on his voyage. From the beautiful Katrina, to the young Masbeth. He encounters many shocking events from meeting witches to the deaths of foes and much more. Not only does Ichabod reveal the secrets of Sleepy Hollow, but also he unlocks the truth of his cruel darkened past. Katrina is a young woman, whose mother died when she was young. She lives in the Van Tassel household with her father and stepmother. She had a poor background, but as she was going threw teenage life her father soon brought her a wealthy life. Young Masbeth is a lad around 14. He lost his father as he also was murdered while trying to save Sleepy Hollow. And his mother is in heaven now with her husband. So when his father dies, Masbeth believes he must stay at Ichabod's side and serve as his servant or loyal learner. My favourite part of the book is when Washington Irving reveals who truly is behind the murders. The result is quite shocking but when everything is told on how the murders where set out you can see how clever the characters have been set out. A ghoulish tale, the detail is shown tremendously by Washington Irving such as when he describes the twisted way the victims are killed by one clean cut. The tale seems not to need any improvements, but in the love scenes the tension of when murders are happening can ruin the situation to some people's perspective. Sleepy Hollow is recommended for those who enjoy reading murder mysteries and dark tales. People who have seen the movie should defiantly read the book as the movie comes so much clearer to give the reader an insight of the whole story. For readers 13 and above.
