Windcatcher, by Avi,is a thrilling book full of adventure, discovery, and mystery. Tony Souza, a teenage boy, is NOT looking forward to spending his summer at his grandmother's house on the Connecticut shore, that is until he buys his own sail-boat, the SNARK. Now inspired by sailing, he decides to take sailing lessons to explore the coast and the thimble islands. But soon, Tony notices the same ominous couple loading their boat with diving equipment and heading out to the same islands each day. And when he hears the tale of the bay's lost treasure from his grandmother, he knows he must find it before the couple do. Chase scenes and mysterious riddles follow, as Tony tries to uncover the long-lost secrets that lie beneath the water. I give this book 4 stars, and recommend it for all.
