Danis (CAPS Lit Book Club) writes the following about Charlotte's Web [UNABRIDGED] :

This story is about friendship between two unlikely characters, a spider and a pig. I was surprised that a spider could become a pig¡¯s friend. Charlotte the spider spun webs with words like radiant, terrific and some pig to show others that Wilbur is more than just a pig. I admire the selfless love of charlotte as she helped Wilbur without asking for anything back. This story teaches me to be kind and selfless like charlotte. I felt sad when charlotte had to die. This made me think of my grandfather¡¯s death when I was an infant and my mother must have felt really sad.
