This story was a really good story.I mean I could really understand because I'm half white. I used to be the only half white at the Junior High. Then comes along this other student and I was mad because my mom mainly wanted me to do the same and I didnt wanna risk my popularity for that. This book was mainly about a girl named Alice Larsen. She and her best friend Minna Lund tried out for cheerleading. both of them made the squad. Seventh-grade is goin g great for her. She's popular at school, just made the junior high cheerleading squad, and the cutest guy on the football team wants to go out with her. And then comes along Yoon Jun.....
Alice thinks this a a geeky looking kid who barely speaks English and comes from Korea. Alice's father wants her to be friends with this boy,and try to learn about her own heritage. Alice was adopted from Korea as a baby, but she likes to look at herself as 100% American. In the end after her and Yoon Jun were partnered up for a project. she realizes that maybe knowing about her heritage isn't bad at all. She loved the food Koreans ate. The author probably wrote this book because she was trying to express that you can't say you don't like something or someone until you try it. Another was don't judge a book by its cover!
