Cadey writes the following about Tangerine :
Paul Fisher moved to Tangerine Florida a very strange town in which lightning strikes every day and wierd is normal. Paul plays soccer even though he is legally blind from an accident he can't remember. He has an older brother Eric who is cruel to him and is a football star. When Paul's school is damaged in a sinkhole he is transferred to Tangerine Middle where he is accepted by some of the toughest kids in school. He also does very well for his soccer team.He discovers a lot about himself and his family,he starts to remember that his eye injury was the result of his brother and friend spraying paint in his eyes. In conclusion, this is a story about a boy who didn't fit in and discovered with determination he could do anything and be accepted. The book is somewhat confusing because it is written like a journal and every day new characters are introduced and a lot of things are happening all the time but it was enjoyable.
