War Horse is a novel written by Michael Morpurgo set in World War 1. Michael Morpurgo wrote this in the eighties and it quickly became one of his more famous books. The story is set in the point of view of a horse called Joey. He gets separated from his mother at a young age and sold off. Joey quickly becomes a fine horse under the supervision of a kind boy called Albert. This book follows Joey as he gets sent to war, and then when his best friend Albert joins the war too in the hope of finding his favourite horse, Joey.
Joey cannot be prepared for what he is to see in the war, but he never forgets his best friend Albert and they both wish to see each other again. And they do, when the war is over they are reunited to spend the rest of their lives with each other.
