ashley writes the following about Matilda :

The book Matilda is about an adopted girl who starts to read at the age of 3. When she goes to school for the first time she realizes that she has magical powers and is very intelligent. Matilda lives in a very disfunctional family with terrible parents. Matilda learns to use her magical powers to get out of trouble. The teacher, Mrs.Honey, grows fond of Matilda,and helps her increase her knowledge by giving her many books to read and study. Mrs.Honey also welcomes Matilda to her home to get away from her family. Mrs.Honey eventually falls in love with Matilda, and ends up adopting her!
