eniqzzz writes the following about best friends for never , a clique novel by: lisi harrison :

The clique, also known as the pretty committee (Massie Block, the leader of the clique, Alicia Rivera, beautiful and Spanish and will one day take Massie’s place, Dylan Marvil, redhead that claims she's fat and is currently on a diet, Kristen Gregory, the smart girl who is the only one that is nice to Claire when her friends are not around). Their eternal wannabe is Claire Lyons who lives in Massie’s guesthouse and has a best friend whose name is Layne Abeley. They are continuing their seventh year in Octavian Country Day School. Massie wants to stay as ruler of the school, but in order to do so; she must host a boy/girl Halloween party with Claire, courtesy of Becca and Liz who thought of the idea first. On the day of Halloween, the pretty committee dress like dirty devils and get suspended from school. Kristen says that her mom cannot allow her to go to the party. At the party, Massie pretends that it is her party and not hers and Claire’s. Later at the end of the party, Massie's crush happens to have a crush on Claire but Massie does not know. At the same time, Dylan and Kristen like the same person. The next day at school, the principle calls an assembly. The assembly regards their dress code and now their going uniform. Massie talked to the principle and they get to have a design a uniform contest. Best Friends For Never is a teenager aged book about real-life drama in cliques.
